Urban Botanical Cup - Burdock #1

Inspired by the tenacious plant life I see in my urban neighbourhood, I wanted to celebrate common weeds which are often loathed or unappreciated. I started this series after receiving funding from the Winnipeg Arts Council which allowed me to learn how to silkscreen my own underglaze decals. Images were designed from photographs I took, then silk screened onto rice paper then transferred to the clay surface. Glazed in clear - both inside and exterior.
